Artifact #1: Classroom Newsletter
This classroom newsletter provides me with a way to communicate important events to parents and students every week. This way, parents have an idea of everything coming up for their child throughout that week, as well as special events or assignments. They will be able to help their child study, and also know what their child is learning about that week. This provides me a way to maintain open communication with families and ensure they know what their child is doing in school. It also provides them with a guide to keep at home, as well as when I am available if they would like to meet with me for any questions or concerns. (Standards 6.1, 6.3, 6.4)
Artifact #2: EngageNY Parent Resources
The EngageNY parent and family resources provide a toolkit for families to assist their children when reading standardized testing scores, as well as understanding the different common core standards and what will be expected of their child. By providing these links to parents, they can help their child study the correct information and know what the expectations are for their children in order to prepare them for their schoolwork. (Standards 6.1, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5)
