Artifact #1: All About Me

An all about me worksheet is an effective way for me to get to know my students on the first day of school. Students can fill out this worksheet and tell me about themselves so I can get to know them better. Also, the second page that can be accessed by clicking on the picture has students fill out information about how they learn best and their favorite/least favorite subjects in school. In my classroom, I would have students fill out both pages, and then hang up everyone's first page in the classroom. This way, students can walk around and learn about their classmates, and I can keep the second page in order to get to know their academic preferences. (Standards 1.3, 1.4, 1.5)

Artifact #2: Daily Check-In

This daily check-in is something I use with my students at the beginning of each day. This is a way for me to check in on their social-emotional learning, and watch for any patterns or trends. They check in 1-5, and then pick an emoji that describes how they are feeling that morning. After that, they have the option to tell me why they're feeling that way. This way the students can tell me how they are feeling so I can respect that and let them have a quiet day if they need to. It gives them a way to privately communicate how they're doing, while also having the option to share if they want to. (Standards 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6)
