New York State Teaching Standards & Elements

The New York State Teaching Standards and Elements provide a framework of skills and practices that have been researched and proven to be effective. These standards consist of:

1) Knowledge of Students and Student Learning

2) Knowledge of Content and Instructional Planning

3) Instructional Practice

4) Learning Environment

5) Assessment for Student Learning

6) Professional Responsibilities and Collaboration

7) Professional Growth

These standards and elements promote a positive learning environment and acknowledge the range of student needs. These standards and elements are something that I strive to follow throughout my teaching.
